From film to television, the reimagining of cult classics is on the rise. This is especially true in the genre of horror. Some of our favorites have sparked franchises that have entertained audiences for over 40 years. This October, Hulu enters the chat with the exclusive debut of Hellraiser as part of its ‘Huluween’ celebration.
In this retelling directed by David Bruckner (The Night House), a young woman acquires an ancient puzzle box she believes is connected to her brother’s disappearance. Unaware of its true purpose, she solves it and opens the door to the Cenobites, a sadistic group of supernatural creatures, and their terrifying leader — Pinhead.
With the original film’s writer and director, Clive Barker, serving as producer, expectations for this film may be high. The cast is stacked and includes Odessa A’zion (Fam, Grand Army), Jamie Clayton (The L Word: Generation Q, Sense8), Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), and many more.
