‘Renfield’ Trailer Drop: Meet the Lord of Death’s Most Trusted Servant
And you thought your boss was bad.

Ah, Dracula — the world’s most famous vampire. Ever since Bram Stoker introduced him to the world in 1897, countless adaptations of the fanged immortal have been made throughout the centuries, each putting their spin on the character. And let’s face it — we never get tired of this blood-sucking legend. But, you don’t get to legend status without some assistance. Meet Dracula’s most loyal servant in Renfield.
Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, loyal lackey to Count Dracula himself, played by Nicolas Cage. For centuries, Renfield has served his master in every way, performing any task given to him, no matter how humiliating. Fed up with this life of servitude, Renfield seeks a fresh start away from Dracula’s control in New Orleans. Hoping to gain a normal life in the modern world, Renfield gets some help through a support group for people dealing with narcissists and cop Rebecca Quincy, played by Awkwafina. But is it enough to escape his toxic relationship with the Prince of Darkness?

Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War, The LEGO Batman Movie) directs this film—which looks to be a little bit action and a little bit comedy. Based on an original idea from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and written by Ryan Ridley (Rick & Morty series), Renfield also stars Ben Schwartz (Sonic, The Afterparty) and Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Focus).
Renfield premiers only in theaters on April 14. Check out the official trailer below, and let us know if you’re as excited as we are to see it.
